voota (754), Melbourne, Australia Mar 27, 2008 Very pale colour with a white head... you can really sense that it’s some mass produced shit you’re about to drink, though the deal was sweetened slightly by the small amount of money I had to part with to drink this one. Sweet, wacky aroma.. pineapple, surcose, diacetyl and some nasty staleness/skunk. Thin sweetish body, not even well carbonated so all the brutal flaws are on show. It tastes like it smells but cheaper, with a sweet finish that makes you wish you’d ordered a bottled water. Not a great introduction to the Vietnamese beer scene.
omhper (10141), Stockholm, Sweden May 22, 2008 Canned. Clear pale yellow, brief head. Vague fruity nose. Sweet, fruity and salty. Light bodied with a fair amount of grassy hops. Salty bitterish finish. Simple but quaffable. Theis (1922), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 28, 2007 Bottle (450 ml) at "City Tour Cafe" in Hué. Clear yellow - white head. Carn, light light malty, straw, hay, white bread, light dry finish. Huda stands for Hué-Danish -> Denmark gave money to the city, now they can export beer !!! BeerBiker (1057), Odense, Denmark Jan 8, 2007 [Canned locally in Hue in 2005.]
Another Carlsberg victim of asian fluid, but a little bit more hoppy than expected, but nothing special. Otherwise nice to rate vietnamese beers after have been looking for them for some time at this site. strings (319), Sydney, Australia Oct 9, 2006 Draught at B4 Belgian Cafe in Hue. Definitely tasted fresher and nicer from the tap than the can I had in my hotel room minibar. Subtle fruitiness... I’ll go with watermelon. Bit of a bite at the end.
