Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate sweet malty and hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Smooth drinkable brew.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: APR 4, 2012 Bottle. Lightly floral barley malt aroma. Clear amber color with nice off-white head. Light toffee barley malt flavor. Watery body. When I was 19, I could buy beer in Ohio and Hudy Gold was my go-to beer so I was really looking forward to trying this - unfortunately doesnít measure up to my memories of Gold (or even Hudy Delite for that matter).

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Neon. Huge glass, holy smokes. Pours a clear amber with a finger of off-white head that settles into just a ring. Notes of sweet, crackery, and caramel malts, toasted sugar, a rusty/metallic thing, and a hint of leafy hops. Light-bodied, with medium, crisp carbonation and a toasty mouthfeel. Not bad.

Gold pour with creamy white head and lace. Light sweet corn aroma with some spicy hops. Very light maltiness with pepper, and a light floral bitter. Foamy and watery but no really bad for the style.

Sample at the Moerlein Lager House on 9/13/13. Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Malty sweet aroma, almost corny. Malt and sweet corn flavor with slight peachiness before a crisp finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium plus sized creamy off white head. Itís really not a bad looking beer. The nose is sweet malts, lightly toasted grains and an odd herbal note. The flavor is sweet malts, grains with a very mild bitterness in the finish. Nothing exciting here, but surprisingly nothing seemed off either.
