1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 shigadeyo (2394) - Harrison, USA - OCT 17, 2009
10/03/2009: Hudy 14-K... Aroma: Moldy corn. Appearance: Golden yellow color, not quite the color of 14-K gold though; very transparent; dissipating off-white head. Flavor: Completely adjunct; no real malt or hops are noticeable at all; Bud is arguably better. Palate: Super light; carbonation level is too high. Overall: This is definitely a downgrade from Hudy Delite; drink Burger beer (either Classic or Light) instead - it’s cheaper and tastes better!
12 fl. oz. can from Bigg’s Hypermarket in Harrison, Ohio. Rating #3 for this beer.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Capa (1544) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 18, 2011
A simple beer made not for those of us who want a hop bomb or malty pint. Nothing offensive and slightly better than those offerings from the mainstream big boys. A bit crisp with a slightly corn/malt backbone. Decent for what it is.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 wxman (890) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - AUG 8, 2010
A Cincinnati favorite from the past; a part of the retro craze. I recall 40 years ago this being a pretty good beer, and this remake is. Don’t expect a micro, this is a simple reproduction of a regional favorite. Pours a bright clear golden with a very respectable thick white head. Thirst quenching, a little too much corn and on the sweet side, still quite good. It is what it is, and perhaps more so than others like it. Not bad.

Hudy 14-K is your average golden beer found in convenience stores. I found mine in Cincinnati. I figured for 8 bucks a 12pk it was worth a shot.

Pours gold with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet grain. Taste is also sweet grain. Goes down smooth. Nice ice cold after mowing the grass.

Can at Bockfest 2010 - Cincinnati. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate grain aroma. Medium body with a smooth thin texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with a light sweet finish of short duration. Simple, cheap and drinkable.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 GMUcrew7 (508) - Mason, Ohio, USA - NOV 21, 2009
Pours completely translucent golden with a small white head. Aroma is grainy with a touch of sweetness. Light crisp flavor, some grains and a pinch of hops on the finish. Not bad for a pale lager.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Skyview (4739) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - NOV 17, 2009
Received a 12-oz can via trade with shigadeyo. Pours a clear light golden pale colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin film top. Aroma of golden grain malt, some corn, floral hops, crystal hops and a touch of grass. Taste is light bodied, a tad sweet, plenty of carbonation with flavors of bread dough and corn malt with crystal hops and a touch of honey. Finish is semi-sweet, a touch watery with a corn and crystal hop aftertaste that disappears. Not the typical crisp finish as most other macro-light beers, but nice to have tried another historical beer brand being revived.
