2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 DrnkMcDermott (2621) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - MAR 18, 2012Let’s wrap up these notes from last year’s DLD, for Pete’s sake. Very light, generic yellow beer color. Thin ring of foam around my plastic sample glass. I’m getting a slight tartness in the taste, then a metallic tang and corn adjunct which is normal for many light beers. Still a lot like water.

12 oz can. Pours a clear straw color with a creamy white head. Aroma of corn, grapes, sweet malts, skunky fruit. So horrible! Sour rotten fruit taste. Watered down sour water.

Draft at Quatman’s in Mason having a great burger lunch. It’s light, refreshing and honestly better than most pale lagers I’ve tried. Starts with some sweeter malt and then finishes with a decent amount of hop bitterness. Nice for the category.

12oz bottle - pours like a pale lager. Smells like cardboard and beer that has been sitting out in the sun for too long. Flavor adds caramel and some sort of hops. Not looking forward to drinking the other five at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days this weekend. Sweet for a pale lager.Watery and the odd taste goes away quickly. I’d rather have a macro.

It’s like drinking your own piss, but cold. This brewer should be ashamed of themselves. I make a better drink when I piss in a urinal.

Can. Looks and smells like the regular; cheap. Tastes like a light version of 14-K with the same feel on the palate. Nope.

Hudy Delight has a typical thick, white head and a clear, bubbly straw appearance, with a tad bit of lacing. The aroma is sweet, light, and grainy. Taste is of mild, roasted malt, sweet corn, water, green apples, and just a tickle of hops bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Hudy Delight finishes crisp, clean, fairly refreshing, dry, dull, and cheap feeling. Overall, this is tolerable. RJT
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 KickInChalice (842) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 27, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 8/8/2010. Poured from a 24 oz. can into a pint glass.
This has the look of a typical adjunct lager - light golden yellow, white foamy head, brisk carbonation.
Cooked corn and steamed vegetables provide the aromatics.
In the taste there is , again, nothing incredibly surprising. Starts off an overly processed kind of sweet, with mechanical corn sugar driving the flavor. Industrial bitterness steps in next, finishing with a dry sweet residue on the palette.
Light and crisp, but the grainy metallic feel really drops the enjoyment factor.
I loved getting this as a gag extra. If this is a Cincinnati favorite, I am in no hurry to see what else they drink over there.

Not bad for an american style light lager. Has more flavor than the big guys, but less expensive. It seems like they use more corn and barley than the macros do (less rice?).
2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rangerred (663) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Poured out of a nice retro looking can into a pint glass.
Appearance is a clear light gold with a fizzy one finger head that quickly fades into nothing. A bit darker than many light beers.
Smell is of light grain along with a grape/lemony aroma. Not extremely appetizing but not terrible.
Taste is fairly sweet with corn and light grain being predominant. There is no hop presence to speak of. Mouthfeel is pretty thin but not as bad as some other light beers.
Overall this is one of the better light beers I have had. While it is a little too sweet for me to drink a ton of, on a hot day it would definitely be a go-to beer.
