Appearance: Pours bright red with a thick dense off white head.

Aroma: Tropical fruit, pine, caramel.

Taste: Apricot, tangerine up front. Toasty malt, finishes with earthy bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied fairly carbonated.

Overall: A pretty well made double IPA. The aroma would lead you to believe the beer would taste a bit on the sweet side, when in fact, it’s perfectly balanced. I enjoyed this and would compare it to a Bear Republic Double IPA.

Amber color with fluffy head and sticky lacing. Pleasant sweetness from malt bill with notes of pine, grapefruit, and spice from hops. Solid.

Bottle. A yellow color with a white head. A overly sweet pine and floral aroma with a malt finish. It doesn’t feel balanced and not a beer to return to.

Humboldt 500 BC (Bull Crap) is the beer nightmares are made of. A copper penny appearance, toasted malts in the nose reminding me of a amber ale left in the trunk over the summer, leaving no hops to smell. Taste is bland with something that i call ’yuck’. Slave tears, broken promises and RANK. Attn: Humboldt Brewing Company, stay out of Philly we don’t want you here, stop clogging up my shelves!! Pissing me off...

PhillyCraft (3146) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2014
Bottle shared by Barry, pours red brown color that is very off putting for IPAs. You know she’s gonna be sweet and sticky which she was. Notes are caramel, and crystal malting, chucky cheese barf pie, and astringent weirdness. Gross, Gross, Gross. I would say it’s old but were pretty sure it’s only few weeks vintage yo

Westmeister (1699) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 24, 2014
Nice medium sweet, medium bitterness IPA. Full gamut of hops - dank, green, peach, citrus, earthy. Balanced bready malts. Pretty nice and a new brewery tick to boot.

Pours a clear copper color with a nice off white head. Aroma is sweet fruits: peach, plum, pear, with mild citrus and pine. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with more bitterness on the tongue. A slight oniony, garlicy taste to it as well. Oily, slick mouthfeel, full bodied. A very nice DIPA indeed!

Bottle from whole foods. Pours clear amber with a large khaki colored head. The aroma has plenty of pine, resin, citrus, a bit sweet. The taste has plenty of sweet orange, a mild bitterness.

Just watch France spank the Swiss in the World Cup. All of the guys on the pitch had such great hair.

Pours a clear dark amber with a fairly thick but effervescent buff head. Aroma is more fruity than hoppy, a bit sweet but still inviting. Flavor puts hops ahead of pear and peach fruity tone; hops balances wood and resin tones, and is slightly bitter, though not as bold as some IPAs - let along double IPAs - I have had the pleasure to down. Smooth texture is fairly fizzy and fairly smooth. Fair to middlin’, but a nice liquid tree-t.
