4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
went to get my growler filled with Odell Myrcenary at Whole Foods and the ’tender gave me a taste of this and a taste of Myrcenary. I bought the 500 BC... really nicely balanced malt and stone fruit hops.
Reminds me of Firestone Walker Double Jack

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/9/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, caramel, light toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, caramel, light toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange zest, pine, honey, caramel, light toast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (undated, but just hit my store). Pours a clear copper color. Aromas of fruity hops and caramel malt. Taste is similar with caramel malt heavier than I prefer for the style. Significant malt; a modest bitterness. Medium to full bodied, average carbonation. I really don’t find anything special here.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
good but fairly run of the mill double ipa...resiny pine and fruit, moderate to heavy bitterness and body. solid across the board, but nothing truly stands out.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Some citrus, floral notes, and a dash of vinegar in the aroma. The label and name are a salute to the California redwoods. The flavor is robust and woody, with lots of rich hops, lemon peel, some greenery, a dash of iron, and a warm finish. This lived up to my hopes and reminded me of some very good Vermont IPAs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. This is a solid brew.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Clear amber with a big off white head that falls slowly. A perfume aroma of hops are citrus and floral with some caramel. First sip brings very little bitterness and more sweetness than expected. This is a classic west coast style IPA. I taste citrus and tropical fruit including pineapple and peaches. Flowers. Yeast adds a spicy characteristic. Malts add a lot of sweetness and only a little caramel flavor. It is also resinous. Late in the glass the feel gets just a little powdery despite the beer being almost clear. This was good stuff. I liked the soft bitterness and big sweetness. Well done.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was a 22-oz bottle shared with Strykzone in the mid-west by the magic of Facebook Chat. We of course had our own bottle. It seems ironic that I have never seen this locally but found this on the Big Island of Hawaii. Pours a really clear red amber (copper maybe?) with a beige head. Good lacing rings. Nose is citrus and floral hops along with tropical fruit . Rich malts. Full body. Very creamy mouthfeel; No alcohol detected. Flavor shows a rich blend of malts and hops with the hops very flavorful. The bitterness is low but increases in the finish. This is a really good drinking DIPA.

A nice average dipa. Good mouthfeel. Bitter not sweet. Awesome lasting head. Good brew on many notes. Nose present but not what I would like. Thick.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Toronado. Pours clear dark orange copper with thin lacy off-white head. Aroma is medium caramel malt, light hops with floral and herbal notes. Taste is big thick sweet caramel malt, sizable bitter hops on the back. Some notes of grass, grapefruit, and earthy flavors. Decent beer, plenty of flavor, heavily malt driven with fairly minimal hop notes overall.
