Bottel 0.5l yellow clear and beuatiful carbonated with white foam. The best bamberger area pils beer with a delicate barley-aroma, reminding of the the summertime and harvest, well balanced bitter taste. Elegant and nice!

Bottle MHD 6.7.12. Golden body, off-white head. Nose has some malt but also a touch of vinegar and too much acetone for my liking Taste is also a little strange, bright malt, lemon, flowers, but there’s also a sort of vomit (not a process flaw). Low bitterness but it doesn’t diminish. Soft, creamy light body. A little hard mineral water in the finish. Actually kind of like it!

Ernest (5609) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 26, 2011
Rated at Hummel in Nov 2011. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of DMS and concrete. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rough/grainy malt, DMS, icky phenols...you could say it’s got it all.

draft. frothy up front with buttered corn diacetyl (mild). zesty and pungent hop bitterness and semi-sweet cracked and toasted grains and crackers are presented nicely by frothy and tingly carbonation. seems balanced but leans to the bitter and dry side which is just fine with me. thought I was in for a mess but it’s actually quite nice... finishes with light honey sweetness and a small bit of "twang". mostly clean.

50cl bottle, BBE 06/2012. Straw color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is hay and grain. Flavor is grain and grassy notes, sweet as well, also very light body. Not very good.

TAR (2346) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - NOV 19, 2011
Draught at brewery. Polished canary yellow. Foam is broken though a tight ring persists. Atrocious nose of fusel alcohol, DMS, cheese. Very grainy as well, with notes of scorched hay. Very light on the mineral and flowery hops. Fuzzy, foamy carbonation abuses the palate. Disastrously extracted grains yield a very dirty huskiness which predominates, resulting in a very poorly defined pils malt character which is mostly buried within the flabby, clover-honey sweetness. Finishes fuzzily malty and potently vegetal with an unrelenting graininess that stymies any hop bitterness which might possibly develop. One of the worst beers during my recent adventures through Franconia, as was this brewery as a whole. Seemingly industrial. No brightness to this at all, just veggies, fusels and grainy malt. But if you wanna familiarize yourself with DMS and lackluster brewing all-around, then by all means have at it!
