3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from REWE, Bamberg. Golden coloured with a white, foamy head that left plenty of lacing. Aroma of herbs, yeast and floral hops. Flavour started with some sweet malt, before grassy and floral hops kicked in. Excellent drinking.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at IndeWildeman, Amsterdam. A decent pils, slightly malty and bready, with a flowery aroma. Perhaps not quite malty enough for me

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at the brewery, clear yellow with a large foamy white head. A subtle sweet hoppy aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel (but a bit soapy) with just a touch of dryness in the finish. Very sweet yeasty flavours with some flowery hops.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Light-medium gold pour with a well defined light white head. Dry and hoppy in the nose, floral and backed by a pleasant yeastiness. Ultra clean character with boastful saaz, remarkably fresh. Crisp and grainy palate with gentle cereals enhanced by the hard-working yeast. Great attenuation. Medium bodied, perfect carbonation of active, cleansing small bubbles. Another superb Hummel offering.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle, from the brewery) Clear, golden colour with a bubbling foamy white medium head. Light-sweet malty aroma with hay and herbal, slightly citric hops. Moderately bitter flavour, medium to light body, crispy mouthfeel. Malty, slightly grainy taste, dry, herbal and medium-bitter hoppy finish. Pilsener-Helles hybrid…and a good one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Straw golden coloured, white, medium-sized head, just a little bit lacing; fresh, mild hoppy aromatic nose; soft bitter flavour above a mild malty body; finish begins sweet, malty, becomes aromatic and hoppy in the aftertaste. Very well done, soft, almost Bohemian Pilsener !

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2006 Impressions from the Gaststätte:
-Wealth reaches the nose in the form of hay, bread, and fresh cereals.
-Pretty lacing hangs above the scant head and clear golden gown.
-Huggable mouthfeels are intrinsic to Franconia apparently.
-Earthy, wooden, and grassy hops meld into a doughy, bitter finale.
On tap at the brewery, and from the bottle back home.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2005 Full golden colour, nice full head, mild-pilslike standard-aroma, enormously sweet southern german pilstype with only a slight hoppy background in the finish, connected to a soapily body, just average. --- 18.03.04
