Draught at the brewery, a very cloudy light brown with a large foamy white head. A strong wheat aroma with clove spice, but also a smokiness in the background. Beautifully smooth mouthfeel at first with a tangy finish. Warmining sweet spice and clove flavours.

Olive-shot brown beer, muddy; off-white thick head. Sweet, dark malts, more chestnut flour, some molasses. Sourish taste, very wheaty and ending banana/fruit sweet. Excellent balance, some cloves, and in the finish... hemp? Quite refreshing, medium bodied, sourish tang. Another superb beer - good Dunkel Weizen. The Hummel brewery is a MUST.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Otje (677) - Veendam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 17, 2006
Very tasty dunkel, althought a bit too sourrish for my taste. My own fault i guess, waited too long before tasting it! (same for hummel brau festbier, which was really too sour to rate). This one however is a genuine wheatbeer, and can handle some sourness. There is some caramel and roast in the nose. Tastes very wheaty and yeasty, some spices like cloves can be tasted too. But the best asset of this beer is its mouth feeling and finish, really smooth! and a good tangy dryish finish. Nice!

50 cL bottle at Ølbaren. Pours hazy dark brown with a huge off-white head. Aroma is roasted malty, light fruity and vague wheaty. Mild citric flavoured, wheaty and light fruity estery. Rather roasted malt flavoured. Subdued sweet and fruity finish. Not bad.

Bottled. An unclear dark brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of wheat and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of wheat, caramel, and malt, as well as some notes of dusty hops, leading to a dry wheaty finish.
