This very rich and malty double bock is complimented with a double addition of pure chocolate. The first chocolate addition was in the brew kettle and the other after fermentation. Malty sweetness dominates the flavor accentuated with a smooth, warming alcohol character. This double chocolate double bock is a real charmer. (Arlington location)

(Growler) Pours a clear deep amber body with a small beige head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of raisins, chocolate, earth, and grain. Flavor of raisins, prunes, grain, light roastiness, and chocolate. Descent Humperdinks beer, but nothing drawing me to try it again.

Growler thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a brown body. Aroma is chocolate (powdered), nutty, fruity esters, earthy. Taste is nutty, chocolate, rotten fruit, metallic, cocoa nibs. I homebrewed with cocoa nibs in secondary before and it gave me an off flavor that I sort of notice in this one.

growler thanks to bu11zeye, pecan colored pour with a smokey caramel coffee aroma, flavor tastes like the cheap hard chocolate flavored candy you get from a restaurant, finish is somewhat metallic

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this handbottle at a recent tasting. The beer pours a clear brownish-red with a white head. The flavor is lightly roasted/toasted malt with some chocolate notes. The flavor is dirty chocolate with caramel and hot chocolate notes. Light-medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

(Growler thanks to bu11zeye) Pours clear rich ruby brown with constant bubbles. Nose of apple, dry cocoa and bready grains. Taste of semi-sweet chocolate, toasty caramel with a thinnish body that’s too roasty/syrupy in flavor.

Tap in Arlington. Clear dark orange color. Mine has zero head but Fratto’s has a small beige ring. Aroma of baker’s chocolate, sweet grain and hot cocoa. Taste is light on the dark chocolate with bitter overtones. Finish is slightly dry but not overbearing. Decent but is lacking the rich leafy maltedness that comes from a solid doppel.
