Cloudy shining copper with a small head. Intense dark fruits aroma. Toffee and raisins flavours. Warming alcohol. A great night-cap. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jun 3, 2009 Bottle that I picked up from Bellingers Garage, Grove, near Wantage, Oxon, consumed 02-06-09 Pours a muddy puddle brown with off-white head. Aroma is alcohol, old leather and some rich dark fruit pudding. Taste is initially a little harsh from the alcohol, its very rich, there is a bitterness there and a strange slight dustiness about things, quite fruity as well. I’ve got to be honest this isn’t really my thing and I couldn’t finish it, I think that it’s a little rough around the edges, maybe with a bit of age on it, it might mellow out a little. Fragrant, sweet malt, thick cut marmalade, grassy hop aroma. Niiiice. Flavour was sweet cherry, yeast, booze, then bitter. Dug it. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 9, 2009 Bottle from Pig’s Ear Festival, London Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Medium sweet caramel aroma, with a milky edge, light fruitness and yeast, soapy maybe. Medium sweet caramel flavor, with a touch of unpleasant vegetables, but the rest is good, with a good bitterness too; light nutty touch; it has some rough and yeasty character found usually in Cask Ales; strong ending bitterness. Quite good, but not exciting, even if the glass keeps getting interesting as I drink it… fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Jan 5, 2009 Bottle 330ml. [ As Humpty Dumpty Ten ]. Unclear amber orange color with a small, virtually none appearance, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head.
