COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In celebration of our 15th anniversary of brewing cracking real ale on the Norfolk Broads, we have brewed a 9.0% barley wine, cunningly called “15”. A Rich, Smooth Ruby Red Barley Wine Hopped with Amarillo and First Gold Varieties. “15” is now available in a very limited number of firkins, and 330ml bottles.

Bottle. Poured hazy light brown with very thin dirty white head. Very strong dark fruit aroma. Taste is very different to expectations from the aroma -it is more bitter with a hint of sourness. Surprising with 9% alcohol. Lightly carbonated. Drier than expected for a barley wine.

Bottle. A hazy, dark golden beer topped by a small, light beige head. Sweetish aroma with a herbal touch and some alcohol. Fruity too, with a faint touch of dried apricots. Honey too. Slightly sourish on the palate, full-bodied and sort of dry, even though it’s quite sweet. Honey, fruityness and some alcohol in the flavor, some bitterness chiming in towards the end. Not very good or interesting one. 140301
