imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Sep 14, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Maltings, York. Hazed gold with white head. Straight into a slightly raw alcohol note with this one and a flowery perfumed hop, a bit of a rough diamond. Heavy and dry in the finish, just average. Bitter slightly sulphuric taste with some acidity. Not a very good example of bottling a BCA. wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Mar 22, 2009 Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a hazy golden colour. Sweetish aroma with yeast the predominant factor mixed with vague malt and citrus. Flavour had quite an unpleasant slightly sour tang to it. Citrus was there but its all rather unbalanced and unpolished. Possibly on the turn. Not much in the way of finesse here. Average. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Jan 2, 2009 Cask at the King’s Head, Norwich, "Post-Xmas Crawl Part 2", 28th Dec 08. Golden amber, small head. Peaty notes at the back of the mouth, fruit/floral ones at the front. Far more of a whisky beer than many of those marketed as such. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 20, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a hazy golden with tiny floating impurities. Astringent chemical aroma. Medium body, fruity with some yeast and an astringent, bitter and chemical finish. Clearly infected - and in a most unpleasant way. 230808 yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 20, 2008 Bottle, thx to Brugmansia. A slightly hazy golden-orange body is topped by an off-white head. The aroma has brett-like qualities, or maybe just sourish like the citrus that is the most evident aroma. It’s probably not intended, but at this stage it was nice. The flavor is citrusy and hoppy, quite dry and with a flavor of pale malt. Silky, thin and effervescent in the mouth, and with a citrusy, mostly lemony, finish. As already said, I’m sure the sourness isn’t intended, but at this stage, it was quite nice. (080823) Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Sep 23, 2008 Cask at the Peterborough beer fest. Alround rating: Sweet pale and richer malts, bitter hops small grassyness. Not very exciting.
