Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 26, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Mahogany brown with a warm, reddish glow. Tall, handsome, beige head with good retention. Lovely fresh aroma of roasted malt. Surprisingly light body with lots of fruit and plenty of malty accents - not really burned malt though. Quite pleasant and drinkable but lacks some balls. 160206 Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 25, 2006 A hazy deep red beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and slightly acidic and roasted. The flavor is sweet again combined with hints of acidity, but also notes of roasted malt, caramel and hints of sulphur. I think of this like more a Mild than a Porter. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark Feb 18, 2006 Bottled: Reddish coloureed. Clear. Huge beige head. Sweet and light roasty aroma. Notes of sterin. Mild flavours. Light roast and sweetness. Some yeast present. Is smooth and easy to drink. Medium bodied. Has a light roasty notes in the end. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark Feb 16, 2006 Bottled. Dark reddish brown with big head. Yeasty aroma. Yeast and coffee in the flavour. High carbonation level. Rather sharp and short finish. Quite light bodied. DJMonarch (6028), Northwich, Cheshire, England Feb 5, 2006 Cask Handpump at the Fat Cat, Sheffield 22/12/2002
Dark red coloured strong in alcohol and rich on the palate. Slightly bitter finish. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Dec 28, 2005 Bottle conditioned. Dark brown with a very large off-white head. Roasted malts and nuts in the aroma with some light chocolate and coffee. Taste is dry and hoppy in addition to the above. Quite highly carbonated, light mouthfeel, drinks below its gravity. It would be better with a little less fizz. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Mar 16, 2005 Bottle conditioned. Mahogony in colour, quite light for a porter. Aromas are earthy sweet roast malts with some nuttiness. Flavours are nutty roast malts, chocolate and not so much earthiness as the aroma. Dry, hoppy and nutty. At this strength its a proper olde style porter. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England Feb 23, 2005 From A Bottle.Black in colour with a red tinge, large head,a light coffee aroma, taste is of roasted dark malt
and bitter chocolate,very smooth.
