COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Pearl Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Amber Malt, Wheat Malt; First Gold hops.
A sweet plummy fruitiness blankets an underlying malty bitterness. Full and rich in flavour, the aftertaste develops an increasing malt bias that does not fade.

Tasted this at the Fat Cat, Norwich in June 2002. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale russet in colour with a thin white head. Slight note of blackcurrants in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Complex malts gives a digestive biscuit note with mixed berry fruit giving body and complexity. Slight hop prickle noted in the earthy aftertaste but fades fast. Finish is very sweet and fruity with drier woody redcurrants coming through. An ok ESB style session ale and well recommended.

Warning! Early amateur rating! On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Tart and fruity. Moderate carbonation. Not too bitter. Very drinkable.

Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Tawny with white head. Deeper beer with hints of chocolate malts then a light tangy hop on a dry bitter. There is fruitiness too with a sweetish plum note. A nicely balanced and interesting beer, enjoyable.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, but with a powerful acidic edge. The flavor is sweet malty, but with light acidic edge and light notes of ginger, leading to a dry finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Slightly hazy amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Has a light Brett aroma. Medium body, dry fruit accents and a little horse blanket before a bitter finish. 220808

Bottle, thx to fonefan. It pours a hazy orange-golden body with a big, dense, off-white head. Sourish, chalky nose with some cooked vegetables and some sweetish maltyness. Sourish, citrusy and chalky flavor, but there’s also a good sweet maltyness giving it some balance and depth. Medium body. Malty, sourish and dusty finish with some bitterness. Another far from impressing English bottle-conditioned beer. (080822)

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off white head. Orange fruity hops and perhaps also mild bacterial infection. Mild creamy brett flavour with a mild orange fruity and slight wooden note. Light citric to dry woody finish. Nice yet once again presumeably not as intended.

Bottle. Glowing orangey amber, cloudy, with a huge offwhite head. Complex aroma of hay and chocolate. Tastes rather bitter, but with noticeable milk chocolate. Some dark fruit as well. It is an unusual combination, but I actually quite like it.
