imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Sep 26, 2009 Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale amber with slight head. A little too laid back, it’s just a slightly grainy, fruity, apricot but thin beer with a touch of fructose in the close. Bland and yes uninspiring. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Sep 24, 2009 Cask at FFTMC Autumn Beer Festival, Oxford 24-09-09 Pours light amber/warm gold with a white filmy head. The aroma is sadly lacking. Taste is tangy but with some metallic edges, touch of sweetness and a bit of dryness at end. Nothing wrong with this beer but the third rather uninspiring beer I’ve had this evening. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov10 2.8 Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 4, 2009 Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and fruit, but also an acidic edge, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing. DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Apr 1, 2009 Bottle from Arden Wines. Orange witbier murk with a white film and no fizz. Childhood flashback aroma of banana-flavoured antibiotics, opening up into orange peel, apple yeastiness, pine. Pondwater murk thick with bits: not entirely my fault. Earthy dull mouth glutted with yeast, uninteresting misty spruce, almond, shampoo gulps, compensating malted milk afters. Condition sloppy to dead. Some more lurking banana there. Not worth finishing. oh6gdx (8801), Vasa, Finland Mar 8, 2009 Bottled@Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruits, hops, some notes of slight acidicness. Flavour is bready, yeasty, hoppy and also fruity and flowery hoppy. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Nov 15, 2008 Bottle 50cl. Light unclear light to medium yellow color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, coffee notes, light to moderate hoppy, citrus shell, moderate yeasty. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderae to heavy shell bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (220808) Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 18, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Hazy golden with an off-white head. Lightly fruity nose with a whiff of yeast. Light body with yeast and citrus accents. Somewhat astringent and bitter finish. 220808 MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Sep 8, 2008 Cask, 4.4% at GBBF08. Almost clear copper colour. Small creamy white head. OK fruity flavour. Slight roughness which is nice.
