2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 yngwie (9205) - Kristiansand, - SEP 5, 2008
Bottle, shared by fonefan. A hazy, orange beer with a medium sized off-white head. Weak nose, fruity and malty sweetish. Some notes of chalk and sourness in the background of the flavor, which is mostly fruity with pale malt. Citrusy flavor too. Medium to full body and relatively high carbonation. Bitter, slightly herbal finish. A decent beer, sort of. Boring though. (080822)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerCast_Rich (1204) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 5, 2011
[500ml bottle, Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn] Pours light amberish gold with a slight haze from the bottle conditioning. Has some character to it, good bitter malty component, nice dry finish. Good balance of fruit, with a touch of banana. A decent bitter golden ale – like the bottle label, too [04052009]

Cask gravity at The Bell Inn, Ivychurch, Kent. Gold, thin white head. Not bad. Interesting bit of grapefruit. Pale malts are excellent. Touch of sweet fruit. Very good, I like this, easy drinking, decent fruit and malt and some ok hop.

Cask - The Brewery Tap/The Shed, Wroxham. Poured a golden colour with a short-lived small white head. Some sulphur and a bit of lemon on the aroma. A muddy, earthy, grassy sort of bitterness. Medium carbonation, lightish body and a mid length finish.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale amber with slight head. A little too laid back, it’s just a slightly grainy, fruity, apricot but thin beer with a touch of fructose in the close. Bland and yes uninspiring.

Cask at FFTMC Autumn Beer Festival, Oxford 24-09-09 Pours light amber/warm gold with a white filmy head. The aroma is sadly lacking. Taste is tangy but with some metallic edges, touch of sweetness and a bit of dryness at end. Nothing wrong with this beer but the third rather uninspiring beer I’ve had this evening. Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and fruit, but also an acidic edge, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2010 Bottle from Arden Wines. Witbier murk with a white film and zero fizz. Childhood flashback aroma of banana-flavoured antibiotics, opening up into orange peel, apple yeastiness, pine. Pondwater murk thick with bits: not entirely my fault. Earthy dull mouth glutted with yeast, uninteresting misty spruce, almond, shampoo gulps, compensating malted milk. Condition sloppy to dead. Some more lurking banana there. Not worth finishing.
