3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2004
Citric aroma, hint of flowers, quite straight. Cloudy, amber/yellow color, off-white head, fair lace. Light sweet start and sweet finish, bitter start and pretty bitter in the finish, grapefruit, dry, thin in the end. Drinkable but not exceptional.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (6747) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - FEB 29, 2004
(brewed at Texelse) Pale orange, end hazy; slightly yellowish, dense head. Sharp nose with citrus but even acetic acid; citrus (orange, grapefruit) gradually enhances. Short sharp sour onset, immediately going over in a very grainy, but not sweet flavour. Light to medium bodied. Acidity has only limited mouthfeel. Beer is OK, rather sharp for being a step-in beer. Label full of commercial humbug ("age-old recipe from the dolmen-area, etc. etc.")
1.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2004 Little particles of yeast float in this beer. Very skunky vegetable-like aroma. Yeasty apple flavor with aniseed. Dirty and skunky. Avoid it! Re-rate, sold as Hunebed blond: Hoppy, somewhat flowery aroma. Grapefruit flavor, just a bit of sourness, cheesy. The beers seems infected. Just a bit of hops and cellary.
