3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 PorterPounder (4115) - Tallahassee, USA - JUN 16, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. Nice medium orange pour - slighlty murky, sticky, bubbly white. head. Faint sprucey aroma with hints of mint. Flavor has the patented grapefruity bitterness one comes to expect from an IPA with some of the same house funkiness found in the Wheat - but it mixes in well here - adds some earthiness to it. Decently thick mouthfeel. Very drinkable.

Draft at pub. Billed as "Cream I.P.A." and high gravity, could be different from the I.P.A. but I did not ask. This was decent but had a twangy tea thing going on in the front of the taste that I did not care for.

Nice medium orange pour that is slightly murky, white head that laces nicely. Flavor is bitter but balanced and slightly earthy. Decently thick but pleasant mouth feel. I will agree with other posts, very drinkable.

This is a good session beer. Drank it from the tap at the brewpub in Columbia, SC. Improved with warmth, and vastly superior to the PA, and nearly as good as the stout. Bitter, citrusy, and flavorful.

Grainy, tea aroma with mild hops. Well-bittered and a little spicy. Goes a little bland and watery. Nutty, British hop finish that lasts and turns bready. Piney-maple colored. Good session brew.
