| A Scottish Ale brewed by Potters Brewery Nulkaba, NSW, Australia
| |
MBison (400), Southern Highlands, Australia Jul 22, 2008 Bottle (750ml). Poured tar black with a good sized, thick, frothy (almost creamy), light-brown head which lasted superbly. Aroma was stout-like with roasted malts, milk chocolate, sweet caramel, licorice, toast, dried mixed fruits (dates, prunes) and a pinch of spice. Flavor was also resembling stout with roasted chocolate malts, sweet toffee, ,mixed dried fruits, toast, tart blackberries, blueberry & prune juice and licorice and vegemite in the finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation, quite dry mouthfeel, thickish texture and a great finish. Far from a traditional Scottish ale, but great non the less.
