(Can 33 cl) Courtesy of omhper. Slightly hazy pilsener golden with a white head. Almost neutral aroma. Very thin and watery body. Lightly sweet notes of....unfermented grain. No bitterness. Do me a favour and read omhpers story behind this beer. It’s way more entertaining than the beer itself! 110507

I, and my compatriots, have probably drank more Hunter Beer (not, as marketed, a Malt Beverage proper: disregard the tagline in standard Banglish: "The preimum taste of Hunter beverage...") than anyone, for we live in Bangladesh, and it’s the only beer we can get. We get it at one of the two Local Government Alcohol shops in Chittagong, the one in Agrabad on Sheik Mujib Rahman Road. (This shop is a barred hole in an alley with an old man that I actually tipped for Bengali New Year. Finding the place was an adventure in itself.) We buy about 5 cases a month. We are currently drinking Batch No. 4, after already having Batches 1,2 and 5. Batch two was the best, and one wasn’t bad. 4 and 5 have left much to be desired. It’s terrible, a metallic pilsnerish beer on par with the lowest U.S. domestics. But it’s all we can get, so it’s lovely, from its Fosters rip-off of a can, to its poor aluminum structure. I am proud to have been possibly the first person in Chittagong to find it, and to have followed the Hunter saga from the beginning. As a beer though, it sucks.

Pours yellow with a thin white head. Smells of cereal, apples. Tastes lemony and sweet. Inoffensive.

Dark yellow colored, little white head. Rice is strong in aroma, wet tone with some lemon and vinegar hints. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also unclean with soft rice palate, lemon and cardboard also. What else does man need out of a beer...

Canned. Thanks for omhper. Remove the non-alcosticker from the contents list and you see an aluminic thing, where the colours have been scratched off the can, badly though. It says 4.8 %... Aroma is pretty much like egg, yeast and white bread. Flavour is very much the same with a lot of rice in it. Surely one of the most twisted lagers/"non-alcos" I’ve had...

Thanks to Per, it took lots of effort to find this one! Pale yellow color, strange particles floating. Wet papery aroma. Sweetish candy-like flavors. Not barley or hops to talk about, but loads of rice. Fizzy papery finish. Propably quite old can. My opinion is that this beer really has that 4% of alcohol. New beer country and rating #3500 for me.

Canned. Pale yellow coloured. Clear. Light white head. Grainy and grassy in aroma and flavour. Really not much to offer. Is quite thin bodied. Is quite sweet in the end. Shit beer. Thanks to Per for sharing.

Can. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of honey and flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of cardboard, malt, brewing cereal, and some hops. Thanks to Per.

Can Thanks to Per. A pale golden beer with a white head. Weak of corn and the taste is corn and peppery. Light body boring beer.

Ølfestival 2007. Canned. Thanks to Per. Smells kind of sour. Pours a clear light yellow with a white head. Quite sweet with aromas of perfume and vanilla. Light bodied, short dry finish.
