COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Witbier or White Beer is pale golden, tart, refreshing Belgian style wheat beer that is cloudy in appearance with a fine white head. It is a light flavoured beer with low bitterness. One of the world's oldest styles of beer, Hunter Witbier had classic coriander and bitter orange peel flavours with a clean dry finish. The crisp zing comes from the wheat and the lovely level of carbonation, making it the perfect summer beer. Although the brewer might not agree Witbier can also be served with a slice of fresh lemon to enhance the citrus character. Terrific with lightly spiced seafood and most Thai dished and heaven with cheese! Alcohol content of 4.6% Alc/Vol.

tap at Harts Pub. decent wit, drinkable but wouldnt have more than 1 or 2. slightly tangy, heavy on the lemon citrus and has that typical wit aftertaste and mouthfeel.

Draught. Tasting sample poured hazy yellow with a small white head. Citrusy aroma and flavour with a touch of spice. Some sourness is coming through as well that let’s this one down.

Nice white beer full of lemon, vanilla and spice. The head wasnt fantastic but otherwise it looked good in the glass. Tangy in the mouth but still had a creamy finish. Good beer but not cheap for a beer of this strength.

MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - JAN 21, 2008
Draught at potters. Arrived an extremely pale yellow with a creamy white head which lasted very well. Aroma was of wheat, cloves, vanilla and faint honey. Flavor was basic but well balanced with some wheat, dried bananas and hints of vanilla. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation, watery texture, creamy mouthfeel and a short finish.

Another light malty backbone with a straightforward flavor profile. Coriander and Orange peel. Unexciting.

On tap at the brewery. Pours the color of a cloudy glass of pineapple juice. The white head is at first thick and plentiful. The aroma is excellent: Lemon, cloves, bananas, and orange. Delicious coriander-tasting spicey flavor balanced by a perfect level of sweetness. Very very nice beer.

Cloudy pale orange with a dense head. A very sweet and creamy aroma, like an orange cream lolly. On tasting the coriander becomes evident, but the flavour is terribly bland with just a little sourness to give it any substance. The palate was quite thin and didn’t leave much of an aftertaste. Palatable, but below par.

Another in the long tradition of mediocre Australian wheat beers. Nothing wrong with it but there isn’t much to get excited about, either. Cloudy cream colour with a lacing head. Light, wheaty aroma with some citric tang. Slightly chalky mouthfeel and taste. Hint of coriander and peel. Sour finish. (Tap, Australian Beer Festival, Oct 2005)
