Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival on 30 November 2010, beer #3. A third straightforward session bitter in a row. Dark amber this time and with plenty of life. The aroma, however, was distinctly unappealing - a whiff of eggy sulphur coupled with, as Jan says, a sort of sicky edge. Better on the palate with a reasonable mix of tangy hop and dry malt in a quite traditional style. But it’s all rather undermined by the initial impact on the nose. Hard to know whether this was a result of the brewing or conditioning although, as noted earlier, it looked perfectly OK. Not that you can always judge the condition by the appearance. Flagged for re-rate.

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England

Clear medium amber color with a small average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - roasted, earthy, licorice - vomit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, licorice - anis. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101130]

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear 2010. Darkish brown thin white. Slight fart yeast aroma bit of rubber in mouth. Not great some malt.
