2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 joeneugs (1618) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 8, 2012
On tap at the brewery. It pours bright yellow with no foam. Streaming bubbles look nice in the glass. The aroma is grainy with some popcorn. The flavor is grainy and watery with some very light hints of spicy noble hops. Not bad for a pale lager/blonde/golden ale whatever you want to call it. Not much flavor good or bad. Decently refreshing.

I had this on tap at Huntington Beach Beer Company.
It pours golden with no head, very little carbonation. The taste is moderately sweet. There isn’t a whole lot going on here

A: Pours a nearly flat, pale straw color with no head. But at least it’s clear.
S: Cooked corn and other vegetables, especially celery. A burnt grain aroma as well as straw and grass. There’s a strange fruit juice sort of sweetness, too.
T: More bitterness than I had anticipated, but there is a lot of cooked grain, corn, and mixed vegetable flavor here. Slightly sweet, but just very corny overall.
M: Light in body with very low carbonation.
O: Don’t bother. Don’t waste your money.

Draught sample at the restaurant. Fine golden ale but nothing exciting...of course I’m never truly excited about this style. Nice malt character but very light flavouring. Refreshing on a hot day.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2009 Solid for its style. Clear light golden/hay color with small white head. Aroma of clean malts and light hint of fruity hops. Flavor is much of the same. It drinks crisp and refreshing, a nice session brew.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 DenverLogan (422) - MileHi, Colorado, USA - JUL 1, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2008 Very minimal straw aroma, minimal white head. Significant carbonation; light body of sweet malt, straw, and hop bitterness. Fairly watery and a touch metallic in finish. I’m at the brewery now because of free wi-fi and it’s a comfortable place, but I should have gotten a pint of the HB 15.

22oz bottle poured a clear gold color with a tiny white head. The aroma was clean malt and light hops. The taste was plain like a typical blond with a clean bitterness and malt profile.
