On tap at the brewpub. It pours brown with no head. The aroma has some dark fruit and toast. The flavor is lightly toasted with hints of fruit. Nothing special.

A: Pours a very dark amber color, not quite brown, with a small/thin off-white head. S: Chocolate is the first thing I get when lifting the glass to my nose. Plenty of toffee and nuttiness with a moderate roast. Maybe a touch of vanilla on the nose as well. T: Much more roasty on the palate with a bigger toast and coffee flavor. Dark chocolate and toffee provide some sweetness, but there is also a prune flavor that becomes sweeter and sweeter as you drink more of the beer. M: Medium in body with a moderate level of carbonation. O: I liked this one, but I don’t know if I’d want to take down more than the sample glass of it.

On draft in Huntington Beach - Main Street. Bongwater??? Haha. OK - my first bong water brown ale. Sounds tasty. This was your standard brew pub - low alcohol - little flavor english brown. Thinner and less malth than I would like. The night was quite foggy at this point though...

Has a nice nutty aroma. Flavor is a little sweet, a little smokey, with an odd spice like characteristic in the finish. Bongwater? Hmmm...

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2007 OK, so it’s not a sweet and smooth malt monster...seems a tad lacking in some areas, but is rater Eyedrinkale accurate in saying beer bongwater...hummm... brown, minimal head, some malt sweetness, significant bitterness, quite similar to the lager and 15th anniversary in flavor. Some mineral/metallic flavors, a tad cloying at the end...not the best but beer bongwater...hummm...who makes beer bongwater!!

Dark brown with a nice sized head. Light, sweer and hoppy aroma. Tastes like some shitty ass home brew. For all home brewers reading this, please do not take offense. Tastes like Beer Bongwater.
