Made a stop at a C-store on a late night bike ride. 3 high gravity malt liquor tall boys for 3 bucks?!? Sounds like a great deal! I like Hurricane mixed rum drinks, what could go wrong? In a wordÖ everyfrickinthing! Letís start with the fact that the lady behind the counter says "You donít want anyone seeing you drink that. Hereís a paper bag." Sounds like the start of an evening filled with poor life choices. The aroma is a sweet stench of weak-ass Kool-aid and stale straw. I really couldnít get a good visual on the mystery liquid in the bag as the only pour was straight into my beer hole. The first flavor note that blossommed on my tongue was íshudderí. Not really a flavor as much as a recoil from the assault on my tastebuds. Not a good first impression. The finish is literally that of watered down fruit punch Kool-Aid and the second hand beer-ish essence you get when making out with a drunk girl at a party. In a rush to get back to the ride, I slugged back two more swallows so it wouldnít splash when I hit a bump. The funk that lingered in my mouth made me start thinking about what I could do to make it go away. Eat a road kill carcass, lick a sweaty truck driver taint, suck on a urinal cake. I contemplated all of these things. Over the next 12 miles, I was able to gag down about half a can and ended up with a buzz similar to sniffing a sharpie. I couldnít even pour it down a drain for fear of poisoning the water supply for the whole city.

This can comes in many drastically different designs and the alcohol % is different, but other than that itís the same. Bought at a convenience store, it pours an apple juice color with a beady head with some large bubbles and some lacing. Smells faintly of rotten fruit and grass and maybe a dash of corn. Taste is nothing to write home about but wasnít unbearable. Malty, grassy with alcohol. Goes down smooth with a watery bitter finish. Not bad, but not great. A cheap beer more than likely fortified with alcohol. Not meant to refresh, but to relax. good if youíre strapped for cash and want a good time!

25 oz. can. Pours golden with white head. Aroma of alcohol, corn and grain. Taste was watered down and metallic.

40oz bottle. Ice cold. Dark pee color. (Someone else already loaned it..) White head. Even at this cold temp, alcohol is pretty apparent. Not overly sweet. Grain, rice, corn, sugar, alcohol. Vaguely unpleasant, particularly the finish. There are other malt liquors id go to before this one.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2015 Drank a 24 ounce can of this one recently. Smell was sort of a damp hay, bread and sweetness. Some alcohol and funk to the smell as well. Taste follows the smell: more sweetness than the smell but thereís the alcohol taste, some mild funk/and or skunk. Hay, grass, corn, bread. Smooth for the high percentage. Interesting aftertaste that goes away. Refreshing and easy to drink. I liked it. This one is a recurring purchase for me. 7/23/15: When you drink this from a 40, there is literally like no taste or smell until youíre in the swill. Then it tastes pretty bad/strong. But that was surprising.

Pours an apple juice color. Itís hard to describe the color. Apple juice, thatís it. It has about a one finger head, no real lacing. This is coming from a 25 oz can into a 16 oz glass. First pour was a dud. Second pour helps things out as far as aroma and taste goes. Anyhow, the head doesnít last. It is what it is. Nothing impressive.

Aroma is alcohol. I smell breadinesss. There maybe some bubble gum in there.

Taste is sweet thatís the biggest thing. I certainly taste the alcohol. Itís smooth. Itís full bodied. Iím not picking up anything telling as far as unique flavor characteristics. Itís metallic, but I guess thatís from the can. Of course the high alcohol content of this thing voids anything you might pick up.

Mouthfeel is smooth. Itís very smooth. For the amount of alcohol in this thing, itís surprisingly smooth and sweet. Itís full bodied. Itís bold. Itís strong. Its very dry.

Overall, itís not bad, Itís hard to rate really. The alcohol is kicking in, so Iím closing now.

49 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a clear yellow with a white head of foam. Not a bad looking beer. The aroma is corny, sweaty, and a little greasy. The taste is not much better. Mostly weird sweetness in there. Medium carbonation and big body.

This would be fine to get drunk on in any situation. The sort of thing you might have at a picknick or an outdoor ball. Itís golden w/ a small head. Itís a little bit syrupy w/ some raw grain alcohol in there but nothing too bad. You also get some of that wierd grape jelly kind of character common in higher gravity malts. Mouthfeel is oddly creamy and satisfying after a fashion, making for a boozy but drinkable beer. This is a work of art compared to many spirit barrel aged beers and that is just a sad fact we will all have to get used to.

25 oz can, inbev is giving us an extra ounce over competitors. Clear gold in color. Really a non-offensive high gravity alt liquor so credit them for that, this still sucks balls though.

Decent amount of white head that quickly reduces to a ring. A few lacings. Bought a 25 OZ. can poured into a pint glass. Aroma is a basic grain/corn feel to it. The appearance is pretty appealing, a nice golden color. Taste, is not unpleasant, a real surprise considering its reputation and cost. Smooth but not a weak flavor. Palate, is slightly carbonated and enjoyable. A very respectable beer, a good American malt liquor.
