Draft at Shagger Jack’s on Oak Island. Poured a clear gold color with a two finger white head. Pale malt, cereal grain, and a bit of noble hop. Light bodied and delicately sweet without any significant bitterness. Crisp, clean, pleasant representation of the style.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy light gold pour. The nose is very malty. The flavor is a little vegetal with some husk and creamed corn. Lingering bitterness. Medium bodied. Different.

Pour is a blonde with a large white head. Aroma is light bready malts and not much else. Flavor is again bready with some grassy hops toward the end but finishes light overall.

Pours golden yellow with small white head.
Bitter hops initially but sweetens on the palate.

on tap-pours a white head and pale yellow color. Aroma is sweet grain-light caramel, secondary noble hops (saaz/Hallertau?). taste is a sweet pilsner, sweet grain-light caramel, secondary noble hops (saaz/Hallertau?).

Im not a Kolsch drinker, but I did enjoy this on a Wednesday night as a start. I think the brewmaster is on a roll.

Appearance: Yellowy-copper body with an almost imperceptible haze and a small, white head.
Smell: Delicate blend of pilsner malts and toasted crackers in the nose with some sweetish, grainy notes.
Taste: Lightly grainy pils maltiness with a light cereal sweetness. Spicy hop character with a light, balancing bitterness. Dry finish. Light, lingering taste of grain in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A reasonably tasty, refreshing Kölsch.
