light golden and unclear with a dense thick head.fruity and grainy, munich malty nose, with little hops in the back. In the mouth it behaves extremly gentle and round, tastes full bodied and the munich malts dominates the impression, notes of honey, too. Suprisingly I find hind of hops in the finish and the malt is note totally unbalanced like in the south german examples of the style. Very well crafted and convincing!

Draught. Nicely refreshing, citric, creamy aroma. Cloudy yellow colour, small white head. The flavour is mild and malty, and the bitterness low. A typical German brewpub Helles.

Bottled. A slightly hazy golden beer with a huge off white head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and some minerals. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, hay, and some minerals, leading to a dry finish.

Bamsen78 (2890) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 18, 2014
Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops, with a note of malt. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with rough & sweetish estery notes and touches of malt. Bitter and slightly paperlike finish. OK but more like a Zwickel than a Helles. (The bottled version is clearly a Helles, in terms of both appearance and taste.)

Unclear medium yellow color with a small to average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, straw, grain, light hoppy, citrus, light butter notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091023]

On tap. Pours a hazy yellow with a creamy white head leaving laces. Sweetish malt in the nose. Medium body, again sweet clean malts with hardly any bitterness. More Helles than Pilsener. 231009
