24/IV/2012 - 30cl bottle @ Klaas’ place - BB: 2/II/11 (2012-400) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the beer!

Clear golden beer, big thick creamy head, pretty stable and adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, floral, green herbs, little fruity, mocha and milk chocolate. MF: quite a lot of carbon, full body. Taste: lots of ripe fruits, bit of banana, mocha and milk chocolate, some sweet alcohol. Aftertaste: ripe banana, milk chocolate, refreshing bitter hops, little minty, sweet sugary, slightly bitter ending, as from the stone inside a peach, or bitter almonds.

As much as the Twents Grolsch is famous as good is Twente’s real pearl the Huttenkloas beer. Although styled under Belgian Ale and a samewise approach is notable it’s overall taste is unique. It has a nice golden color, clear texture and strong foam top.

On tap at Haarlem Culinair. Clear deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of nutmeg, sewer, later on straw, light bready malts, light hops. Flavour is light sweet, malty, light spicy, light hoppy finish. Light bodied. Nice enough. But Belgian ale? I thought this was more a Helles.

Courtesy of Fonefan. It’s warm golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, light fruit, but it’s not very strong. The flavour has sweetness, notes of malt, candy sugar, light fruit and a light spicy bite before a dry finish. It’s not bad in any way, but also not very exciting.
