A bottom-fermented Bavarian beer speciality. Special dark malts gives it its spicy aromatic taste and the dark color.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Was soll man sagen? Ein Dunkles von absoluter Spitzenklasse, hier stimmt einfach alles. Gut trinkbar, süffig, röstig und etwas karamellig-süß... Absolut geniales Teil!!!

In short: Crunchy caramelized hay with banana notes. Nice beer.
How: Bottle 500ml at La 100 de Beri, Bucharest
The look: Clear light-ruby body topped by small off-white head
In long: Nose is toasted bran muffin, hard barley candy lollipop and some bananas. Taste is more of the same, lots of toasted hay, sticky hard barley candies, taffy candy, dry caramel, crunchy bread crust, semi-ripe bananas, a mild cloves spiciness. Mild sweetness sensation. Low bitterness level. Overall this was a very bright and crunchy beer that I found to be quite enjoyable, above average example of a style I don’t particularly enjoy. A nice beer to drink while in Bucharest, in the beer wasteland that is Romania. And once again the pub staff acted all shocked and upset when I showed them a picture of my mother vagina after I ordered my beer. Pub staff from all foreign countries of the world, stop asking me where I come from when I order a beer.

Dark red with a quite lasting white head. Aroma of malt, toffee. Very sweet taste, caramel, with some hints of wild berries. Almost no carbonation, a bit watery. Leaves a pleasant sweety taste on your tongue.

Bottle. The aroma is well balanced, malt, bread and chocolate, a very soft hint of yeast. The head is medium large, beige and foamy with a long duration. The body is dark red to brown. The taste is nice malty and reminds me a little bit of chocolate. The finish is long and soft. The body is rather medium strong, creamy and with a normal carbonation. A very good Dunkel.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear deep brown colour with a large beige head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Velvety smooth palate, lovely flavours of chocolate, roasetd malts, caramel, raisins and a tiny tiny touch of citrus fruits. Very well balanced, a pleasure!
