UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Small beige head. Clear deep dark red body with lazy carbonation. Earthy fruity juniper aroma with wooden caramelly notes. Deeply unusual aroma. Sweet-dryish earthy syrupy juniper taste with rye crisp bread notes. Fullish body. Dusty, slightly sharp mouthfeel, with light astringence. Dry roasty earthy rye aftertaste with spicy juniper and syrup notes. Really, really unusual, but good too. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly web order.)

Kaatuu lasiin kauniin tummanruskeana ja isokuplaisella melko pienellä vaahdolla. Haju on maltainen ja joulumausteinen. Tiettyä pihkaisuuttakin on joukossa.

A transparent brown color with no head. A somewhat sweet, brown sugar, and maple syrup aroma with noticeable and pleasant juniper twigs. It has a nice earthy aroma and flavor with a light malty palate.

Pours a deep caramel color with a short tan head. The aroma is lots a caramel malt and some dark fruit. The flavor is dark malts and caramel up front with some dark fruit and another flavor that must be the juniper in the background. It has a light body and a smooth, sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16.9 oz bottle. Pours deep deep brown with amber highlights; has a small beige collapsing head. Aroma consists of toasted bread, toasted marshmallows (on the burnt side), woodsy, overripe dark fruit--interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever smelled a beer quite like this before. Taste is malty sweet with a European bent; it’s reminiscent of Samuel Smith’s dark beers; finish is quite bitter, though. Mouthfeel is creamy, body thin to medium, carbonation soft. It’s good, but not exactly a masterpiece.

500 ml bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about a half inch tan head that sticks around a little while. There’s also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is rich and malty, the brew smells like caramel malt, dark bread, herbs, and some dark fruit. The herbal and caramel flavors are strong in this brew. It also tastes like nuts, dark bread, and some dark fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s syrupy and slick with low/moderate carbonation. I think this is a good brew, I liked it! $8.99 a bottle, I think it’s worth trying at that price.

On tap at Crowbar. Sweet, herbal, quite complex, but this is far from a Sathi. Too sweet, they could have made much more out of this.
