Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Dark amber color. Malt, grassy hops and licorice in the aroma. Firm earthy oily hopbitter flavor with licorice and some hidden melon notes. Hops and licorice lingering on in the aftertaste, though the balance ramains largely intact. Nice brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2nd May 2009
Cloudy dark brown beer made with rye as well as juniper. Semi dry palate. Rich malt and rye with some rye spiciness. A little fruit from the hop and quite a bitter finish. Fruity aromatic aftertaste. A bit off the beaten track!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thanks to Andrè. Pours dark amber with a vanishing beige head. Aroma is definitely sweet, too sweet, and nutty. Flavourwise it sucks. Nothing to add. Not my beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a murky brown color with a small beige head that soon recedes to a fine film. The aroma is strong with sweet malts, rye breads and that which I guess is the juniper twigs. The flavor is sweet malts forward with caramel malts, spices, nutty biter hops and rye. The palate is smooth and the carbonation is soft. Finishes medium in duration with lingering juniper. Overall: A boldly flavored brew--This one really grew on me as i drank it, my hats off to the brewer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle shared by ShareANevada (ba). Pours a caramel brown color with a medium sized frothy beige head. The aroma is caramelized maltiness with herbal notes that tend toward juniper and pine/spruce. The flavor shows a solid malty base (caramel) with notes of wood and juniper berries. There are lighter floral hops. The finish is dry and refreshing. Medium plus body and smooth. An Interesting beer I probably would never have tried otherwise.

50cl bottle. Poured hazy brown color with a very thin head. Aroma is very sahti like, yeasty and malty and lots of juniper. Flavor similar, malty and very hoppy, juniper and some yeastyness. Well hopped, quite dry finish. Fresh and excellent beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From BevMo in Sacramento. This 500 mi bottle poured a dark ruby with a good sized pillow-like beige head and lots of lacing. Nose is of evergreens like spruce and pine with some ripe fruit as well. Medium body with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Flavor shows dark malts, chocolate, ripe fruit, and the Juniper. Dry finish. Darn good beer.

0.5 l bottle from Alko. Dark reddish brown color with creamy beige head. Malty, biscuity and fruity aroma with toffee and hints of gooseberry as well as dark caramel. Bittersweet rich malty and toffeish flavor with firm herbal bitterness growing towards finish. Hint of dark chocolate and some malty sahti notes as well. Full bodied. Good firm fresh maltiness with a nice play between herbal juniper and bitterness.
