This brew is a copper-brown color with a medium light tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing at the top with spots underneath. Aroma of caramel malt, berries and hops. Medium body with flavors of burnt malt, hops, and fruit. The juniper character is fleetingly present too. The finish is woody and malty with a sweet aftertaste. Above average overall.

Different than I expected and much different than another juniper beer I’ve had. This one reminds me of a softer easier chewy porter or stout. Poured with a fine light tan head that settles down to a thin cover and some lace. Color is a a cloudy brown with dark amber highlights. Aroma is very malty with hints of rye fruit roasty and the juniper. Flavor is the same but with lots more going on. Roast comes out more. Very well balanced. Texture is like I said, chewy and full with great carbonation. Nice finish. Session.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Cloudy copper colour, creamy head. Doughy noe. Fairly sweet with soft mouthfeel and near full body. Mildly warming with some caramel. salty finish with good bitterness. The juniper twig flavour is very subtle.

Slightly hazy light brown. Not much head. Slightly chewy, chocolatey aroma with phenolic nuances. Chocolatey, with some strong rye notes.

Brown-bronze, shiny and dark. Aroma is earthy, rich, and rusty. Palate is powdery, leaving a dry feeling on the tongue. Lots of rye everywhere. Interesting and odd. The outstanding feature is the strange sensation of the dry rye on the tongue.

Bottle sampled on 4/5/09: Pours a transparent amber orange with a frothy, small-bubbled light tan head with stringy-lacing. Aroma of sweet doughy caramel with a touch of honey and English hops. Body starts with good fullness and sweet caramely maltiness with a touch of earthy hops and some floral juniper character before a toasty, drier warming finish. A pretty decent brew, but could use more complexity.

500ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, slight fruit, slight dark ripe fruit, light plum, slight raisin, slight bread, light burnt caramel, and a hint of wood. Poured brown/orange in color with a small to medium-sized, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, light juniper, light wood, bitter hops, burnt caramel, slight resin, and a hint of dark ripe fruit. Full body. Thick, slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, wood, and bitter hop finish is slightly dry.

Bottle split with Dallas. Pours a dark, dark reddish brown body with small off-white lacing. Aroma is juniper berries, and roasted malt. The flavor is slightly roasty, with nice fruity tones (probably the juniper twigs).
