COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Huvila Arctic Circle Ale is a chestnut coloured ale with a malty/fruity odour. It tastes of dark fruits and caramel malts and finishes off with a nice bitter hop tail. It is brewed with both juniper twigs and a large dose of Finnish attitude. It is available on tap an in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. The beer has also featured among the seasonal Christmas beers at Alko, the Finnish monopoly retail distributor of beers with more than 4.7% Alc. Arctic Circle Ale is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers.

(Bottle). A peculiar beer that I find difficult to describe with words. Most prominent, however, is a sweet fruitiness mixed with spices ... Strange!

29-MAY-2014, bottle @home, brought by Morten. Mahogany with low tan head. Bitter and malty. Roast, coffee, Herbs, grape fruit. Medium body and carbonation. Somewhat strange.

Very different bitterness on this one, very different ale in general, I guess it’s a Sahti. Rye is nice, very nice mouthfeel, a bit fruity feel to it, quite a bit bitterness, but nicely balanced, and the malt gives very interesting new falvours that I don’t really resemble with beer, but soy, maybe butterscotch, and leather feel to it...

Pours hazy brown with resemblances to a Belgian dubbel. However the nose has some cherry, and maybe vanilla alongside the traditional plum and raisins of the dubbel. Taste is also dark fruits. The mouthfeel and body however is lighter than expected and the carbonation is quite low. - with thirst, Niklas

A really special one with some ripe fruits and raisins in the back. What makes that one is that deep licorice aroma in the end. I hate licorice but how they included that aroma here is just fantastic.

Bottle from trade with Patrick -Thank you! The beer pours out in a dark deep brown colour with steady head and smooth body. Aroma of raisin, licorice, butterscotch and prunes. Taste of licorice, prunes, plums, dark berries, spice and herbs. There is a light bitterness beside a big ripe dark dried fruits / licorice note. Wonderful to drink, very intense and complex. Enjoyed it.

Aroma is slightly oxodated like sherry. Nice red hazy beer. Taste is slightly metallic some malty sweetness. Very strange beer, maybe a bad bottle… ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein rötlichbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig, würzig, Gemüse. Geschmack nach Gewürzen, Röstmalz, Gemüse.

Tasting at beer 14. Aroma has lots of malt and juniper. Rasting is light at first. Then you get the darker malts coming through.

500ml bottle. Clear, ruby red glowing, chestnut colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Grainy aroma with hints of spelt and vague fruitiness lacks intensity. Taste is malty, grainy, herbal, peppery spicy, hints of juniper, subtle sweetness, vague fruitiness. I didn’t check all my ratings to confirm my subjective impression, but: I’d guess that aroma has scored a higher credit than taste overall. And even if that’s not true: the discrepancy of points I’d have to give here for aroma and taste respectively maybe unique in this case. Rich, multifaceted and ambitious concerning taste, rather boring concerning aroma. Unique in this "category".
