Pours a hazy copper colour with amber highlights. The head is frothy, bubbly, warm-beige, lasts long and gives out creamy-bubbly lacing. Big aromas of dates, caramel, raisins, nuts, hits of smoke and wood. The burnt malt shows up in the taste all the way. Spices and some nice bitterness, creating a good dryness in the finish. Seems like Juniper lingering with coffee notes. Quite a pleasant brew to try. Like a mild smokey stout with light spices.

Bottle from LCBO.
Warm opaque brown. Off-white head. Lovely aroma of toffee, chocolate, tartness. Dry rye flavour. Quite bitter. Ended up disappointed in the taste after the aroma.

Cloudy dark brown, small off-white head. Nutty aroma, some brown sugar. Spicy taste, some very strange notes I can’t define. Don’t like it very much. Medium body, creamy, soft carbonation. OK.

Warm juniper bush tasting dark ale. Great winter brew, surprisingly good for a Finnish ale. Pours dark purple color with a slight metallic after taste. Good ale.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Pours a clear, ruby/caramel with a ring of bubbles for a head. Aroma has warm notes of rye, caramel, and a woody/vanilla. Taste is balanced. Caramel, slight fruit, and an odd woody/spice. Guess that?s the juniper. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Slightly creamy in the mouth. Overall interesting and well done but not my thing. The juniper is an odd flavour.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Juniper in the aroma along with notes of dark caramel and raisins. Appearance is a cloudy dark brown with a small off white head. Flavor has notes of burned caramel, brown sugar, juniper & spice from the hops. The beer has signs of oxidation. Mouthfeel is medium with low carbonation. Overall, it's a good tasting beer that would be better if it was fresher.

Bottle - Dark malt, dark fruit and a touch of spice. Hazy copper brown with a light brown head. Spicy brown sugar and raisin, with a nice bitterness to cut the sweetness. Light herbal notes but very well done and enjoyable.
