COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Huvila Arctic Circle Ale is a chestnut coloured ale with a malty/fruity odour. It tastes of dark fruits and caramel malts and finishes off with a nice bitter hop tail. It is brewed with both juniper twigs and a large dose of Finnish attitude. It is available on tap an in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. The beer has also featured among the seasonal Christmas beers at Alko, the Finnish monopoly retail distributor of beers with more than 4.7% Alc. Arctic Circle Ale is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers.

50 cl. bottle. Amber-red colour with no head, just a thin ring around the edges of the glass. Spicy aroma with the juniper very pungent. Caramel malts, bread, nuts, dark, dried fruits and alcohol. Taste is sweet. Medium body, flat carbonation. Spicy finish with rich malts and juniper. If you´re a kind of juniper-guy this is certainly the beer for you. Enjoyable, even if I wonder, the beer should be so little carbonated.

Comes out of the bottle a clear sepia with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Syrupy aroma has a sweet, spicy overtone with touches of fruit and - yes, juniper. Flavor has woody, clove, nutty and earthy notes, rather enjoyable. Texture has average fizz and body, not too shabby. Even if this is a winter beer, enjoyable whatever the season.

My first Finnish beer. The beer pours a hazed copper colour with a very thin white head. The aroma is Juniper, caramel, raisins, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet, smoky with caramel and molasses sweetness, and a smoked wood aftertaste. This is definitely a winter warmer and the alcohol is slightly noticeable in the aftertaste

Pours hazy copper thin tan head large bubbles. Aroma is sweet caramel with bready notes. Flavor is sweet bready rich malt. Woody finish light bitterness that’s a little odd, subtle juniper gin like flavor.

500ml bottle from LCBO. Hazy reddish amber with a fairly large long-lasting fizzy-foamy beige head. Interesting aroma - definite alcohol presence, cocoa/coffee malt, very bitter - I definitely get the juniper; but the aroma is more malty than bitter. The taste follows, but the juniper dominates - nice, if a little assertive. Lightish body, slick, very astringent, mildly carbonated - fairly long sharp herbal-juniper finish - the malt loses out pretty early on. I liked it, but it’s a weird one.

Juniper in the aroma along with notes of dark caramel and raisins. Appearance is a cloudy dark brown with a small off white head. Flavor has notes of burned caramel, brown sugar, juniper & spice from the hops. The beer has signs of oxidation. Mouthfeel is medium with low carbonation. Overall, it's a good tasting beer that would be better if it was fresher. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, ruby/caramel with a ring of bubbles for a head. Aroma has warm notes of rye, caramel, and a woody/vanilla. Taste is balanced. Caramel, slight fruit, and an odd woody/spice. Guess that?s the juniper. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Slightly creamy in the mouth. Overall interesting and well done but not my thing. The juniper is an odd flavour.
