bager (1900), Copenhagen N, Denmark Feb 14, 2008 Bottle. Hazy amber coloured with a small tan head. Malty with notes of caramel, dried fruits and vanilla. Nice and clear but also a bit too mild and dull. Enjoyit (1077), Vadum, Denmark Feb 7, 2008 Courtesy of Bierkönig. Reddish amber of color with a very weak white head. An aroma of sweet malt and caramel. A flavor of malt, raisins and caramel. Storm (2677), Amager, Denmark Feb 2, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy amber colour with a little head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Flavour of malt, caramel and smoothness. Ends up with a little alcoholic finish. Papsoe (9774), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 19, 2008 (Bottle 25 cl) Courtesy of Bierkönig. Vintage 2005. Clear, dark, amber golden with no head whatsoever - looks like a vintage cognac. Fat aroma of caramel, overripe fruit and alcohol. Very full-bodied with hardly any carbonation. Plenty of sweet caramel, overripe fruit and vanilla accents. Almost no bitterness, but a warming alcohol in the finish. A decent British style Barley wine. 120108
