Huvila E.S.B. – is a dark brown strong bitter, which is robustly hopped with Goldings hops. The aroma is fruity and warming, the taste is full and complex, with a long, hoppy and bitter after taste. A true E.S.B. with a lot of individual style. It is sold to retail clients in Finland through Alko, the Finnish monopoly retail distributor of beers with more than 4.7% Alc. It is also available on tap and in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. Since 2011, Huvila E.S.B. is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar.

(Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy golden orange body with a small white head. Aroma of strong florals, mustiness, Granny Smith apples, orange, earthiness, and light funkiness. Flavor of floral hops, sweet malt, nuts, bitter wild berries, and some herbal qualities.

Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki- Copper coloured with a small head. Malty and slightly fruit aroma. Malty and well balanced refreshing taste with raisins featuring. Nicely balanced and nice to have a beer which is not a hophead’s dream!

Bottled. An unclear copper colored beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and oranges. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and fruits - especially oranges, but also a light touch of hops, before a dry finish with a light touch of nuts sets in.

Bottled. Aroma is quite smooth and has flowery and citric (grapefruit) hops. Hazy, orange coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is a little sweet with more evolving bitterness. Good balanced hop taste. I go with Orval resemblance as well. Good brew.

caesar (5055) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2007
Bottled. Hazy orangebrown color, medium head. Aroma is quite fruity, very soft, some hop. Quite fruity and slight bitter taste, but very soft and perfeclty balanced. This inspiration of Orval was mentioned by a friend of mine as well. Maybe that’s why I like it.

Bottle. Deep red amber, hazy, and with a big yellow-tinted head. Sour fruit aroma with definite brettanomyces farmyard character, inspired by Orval, I would say. Balanced sweet and sour flavours, even leathery taste. Brettanomyces and good bitterness make sure it ends up on the dry side. Judging from the ratings, this beer seems to vary quite a bit from bottle to bottle. With a fondness for Orval I found my bottle superb, whether it was intended to be like this or not.

Bottle from Uto, shared with Chris_O, Mes, Harrisoni and HogTownHarry. Amber with an off white head. Effervescent with notes of hops and asprin. Sweet malt, orange peel and hops with a bitter bite. Interesting.
