Bottled. An unclear copper colored beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and oranges. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and fruits - especially oranges, but also a light touch of hops, before a dry finish with a light touch of nuts sets in.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 skortila (4160) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - DEC 30, 2007
Bottled. Aroma is quite smooth and has flowery and citric (grapefruit) hops. Hazy, orange coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is a little sweet with more evolving bitterness. Good balanced hop taste. I go with Orval resemblance as well. Good brew.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 caesar (3748) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2007
Bottled. Hazy orangebrown color, medium head. Aroma is quite fruity, very soft, some hop. Quite fruity and slight bitter taste, but very soft and perfeclty balanced. This inspiration of Orval was mentioned by a friend of mine as well. Maybe that’s why I like it.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 25, 2007
Bottle. Deep red amber, hazy, and with a big yellow-tinted head. Sour fruit aroma with definite brettanomyces farmyard character, inspired by Orval, I would say. Balanced sweet and sour flavours, even leathery taste. Brettanomyces and good bitterness make sure it ends up on the dry side. Judging from the ratings, this beer seems to vary quite a bit from bottle to bottle. With a fondness for Orval I found my bottle superb, whether it was intended to be like this or not.

Tap at Kaisla. Amber brown, tea color. Fresh and sweet nose. Full sweet malty and hoppy flavor with nice gummy bear and fruits aftertaste. Really juicy overall. Good.
