Huvila E.S.B. – is a dark brown strong bitter, which is robustly hopped with Goldings hops. The aroma is fruity and warming, the taste is full and complex, with a long, hoppy and bitter after taste. A true E.S.B. with a lot of individual style. It is sold to retail clients in Finland through Alko, the Finnish monopoly retail distributor of beers with more than 4.7% Alc. It is also available on tap and in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. Since 2011, Huvila E.S.B. is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar.

50cl bottle thanks to Miksu! Dark copper color with nice medium head. Carbonation is very soft and nice. Taste is medium bitter and light sour. Seems like the sourness isn’t suppose to be in here... Aroma is nice and hoppy, light fruit and dried fruits and also light to medium yeasty. The yeast aroma is strange but it’s a nice ESB anyway!

Light brown with slight haze. Aroma has some sweet malts and dried fruits. Flavours of dry, floral hop and sweet, slightly chocolatey malts. Bittersweet and full flavoured.

Bottle as a gift from Helsinki. Pours a beautiful dark hazy coppery amber with a light creamy head that retains and laces quite nicely. Nose is herbal, grassy, nutty, floral - very good and distinctly English. Acquires a pungent yeasty note as it’s warmed. Taste is fruity and fresh, quite tamed and light at first, then starts to build up the rather harsh bitterness of Goldings, finishing very dry and malty. Body medium, carbonation gentle, mouthfeel quite soft. A nice, simple, refreshing brew. Haven’t had Fuller’s ESB in a very long time, but right now I think I like Huvila’s more, even though it might be all too nice and safe.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Stas. Hazy honey-amber with white film. Toast, some date honey aroma, mild bitterness, mouthful maltiness and a little hoppy taste. Medium-bodied, long, bitter finish.

A robust ESB that taste quite well. Perhaps a little easy to drink though.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Stas. Hazy orange-amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, some fruitiness, yeast and some hops, a bit earthy. Sweetish flavor with caramel, some fruitiness, yeast, and some earthy and slightly citric hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied.

50cl bottle. Pours as a hand pumped bitter. Beautiful clear walnut brown with fine bubbly head. Gently carbonated, slightly oily. Tasted like lemongrass and oranges. Slightly acidic finish. Not my favourite ESB, but is quite close to it. Previous bottle I tried 2 years ago seemed to be more softer, sweeter and less bitter.

Bottle from The Bryggeri, Helsinki. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is light malt hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a light malt, grassy, spice hop citrus bitter palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very drinkable and very refreshing.

Alussa hop häiritsee hieman, keskivaiheilla maku paranee. Lasin loppupiolella hop alkaa häiritsemään enemmän ja enemmän.

Liian kitkerä kalkki juotavaksi. Ei ole makuaisti vielä tottunut tähän humalan määrään.
