Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki. Clear amber, small head. Grapefruity hop aroma. Dry and salty, clean and crisp with medium body. Well hopped and with a core of crystal malt. Long salty bitterness. Decidedly American in style, but stays pretty much to the main road as far as IPAs are concerned, and does not really lift to the top levels that some Huvila beers does.

fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - JUN 17, 2007
Draught at Oluthuone Kaisla, Helsinki
Beautiful red-amber color. The aroma is mild, hoppy and fruity, a bit herbal. The flavor is basically medium caramel with an ending strong bitterness, partially aromatic and fruity. A Bitter with more fruity hops. Good.

Amber color, small off-white head. Lightly flowery hoppy, a bit yeasty nose. Yeasty, flowery hoppy flavor with late bitterness. Nicely hoppy and long aftertaste. Standard but pleasant IPA.

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo) Excellent immitation of the English style, better than many of the best English examples, and vastly better than the more modern bastardisations of the style. Deep ruddy colour, little head. Caramel and woody or even nutty aroma. Full bodied combination of malt and bitter in the mouth.Long bitter aftertaste.

(Draught) Clear darkish amber with no head. Fruity-hoppy aroma with red currants. Fruity, somewhat bitter and perfumy-aromatic-hoppy flavor. Barely medium-bodied, bitter palate with flat carbonation. A semi-decent IPA, but needs developing.

Draught at Helsinki beer festival 2007. Red amber color. Candyish, fruity, perfumed and peppery hop aroma with notes of marmelade and berries. Toasty and fruity flavor with firm bitterness and notes of marmelade. Balanced, clean and pleasant.

Jukkabro (3473) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 22, 2007
Dark amber colored, vanishing yellow head. Sweet, caramelly, even some oaky-vanilla tones in niecly hopped aroma, good one. Medium bodied. Flavor is more hopped with caramel touch, some bubblegum, lemon and sweetness there also. Aftertaste dries finely, even mild alcohol comes up there. Fine balanced nice IPA for at least to be from Finland.

Helsinki Beer Festival 2007. Aroma of candy malt, sweet but not too strong. Red cola colour, small beige head. Taste nice, full bitterness with a smooth, oily texture.

(From tap at Angleterre, Helsinki) This ones pretty damn good. Flowery and hoppy nose, dark amber color. Very intense taste, almost a bit too vivid. Bitter, full, some sweetness. Caramel is there. Nice smooth carb. I don’t know if this is a bit too intense, in a juice concentrate without enough water kind of way.
