COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Huvila Joutsen is an easygoing ale of a pale golden complexion. The beer’s aroma reminds of toffee and flowery hops. It is very smooth in taste and reminds of bread and hints of honey. It has a REALLY soft finish. The quaffer of choice for warm days! It is available in selected shops, bars and restaurants all over Finland. It is also possible to visit the Malmgård brewery and buy Huvila Joutsen on site. Since 2011, Huvila Joutsen is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar.

Hazy blond color. The aroma has some citrus fruits, malt, yeast; strange. Some malt flavor, good hopping, but too much yeast taste. A bit meaty at the end.

Bottle @ Ukko-Munkki in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki. Pours a light golden with a frothy, medium, white head. Aroma is bready malts, some grass and herbs, hints of banana or citrus there as well. Maybe a bit of wheat (or spelt) was used in the malts? Taste is mild, grassy, some breadiness, bit of a herbal character. Soft finish. Palate is pretty good; carbonated and not watery. Refreshing. Lots of yeast flakes at the bottom. Probably an old bottle. Maybe needs a re-rate. Short: It’s a-ok for quenching your thirst on a hot day, but pretty mild all around.

Kullankeltainen olut valkoisella vaahdolla. Maltainen ja hedelmäinen tuoksu. Maku on hieman makea, hedelmäinen ja maltainen. Jälkimaku on aavistuksen verran katkera. Raikas ja kevyehkö olut.

Pale golden pour with a tight white head. The aroma is a little bit citrusy and quite hoppy. A little bit of creamy malt character. A bit of lemon and some soft fruit. There is a little bit of Sorachi aroma along with a lot of creamy malt base. There is a little bit of lingering hoppiness. Man - this is a damn solid pale ale.

Nice lively, fresh summer drinking beer. Citrus flavours to the front, fresh hops to the back. Easy drinking and a great "quaffer"!

This is the second one I drink. The first time I was really surprised and impressed, let’s see what it’s like this time.. The head was this time quite sick. I don’t remember the first one having this big of a head, but nonetheless this one poured a thick creamy head with nice texture. It loses it’s texture relatively fast, but still I was very surprised on how it keeps the creamy top for a long time. The liquid is kind of a golden apple colour, with slight hazyness. very nice different "herb"-like look to it. Aroma is full of fruit; apples, citrus, pear, with a subtle presence. Cream and herbs. A hoppy bitter scent. The taste comes with slight sweetness accompanied with a low profile bitterness. A dry, spicy and herb-like overall taste. The body is light and manages to give the tastes a good foundation to work on. A dry and surprisingly thick texture. A lively carbonation, could do with less. This second bottle seemed to be more lively. A dry finish that reminds me of many spicy wheat beers. A nice addition to the Huvila family. pleasantly surprised.

500ml purchased at Eat & Joy. Slightly unclear, golden body. Lacing and patches from a fast declining white head. Mild aroma of oil fruity with a lemon-accent. Fruity taste of lemon and oranges. Notes of herbal dryness to a short-lived ending. Soft carbonated. Oily palate. Thin, but very refreshing after a long conference day at the university (hotel room, Helsinki 05.02.2011).
