COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Huvila Joutsen is an easygoing ale of a pale golden complexion. The beer’s aroma reminds of toffee and flowery hops. It is very smooth in taste and reminds of bread and hints of honey. It has a REALLY soft finish. The quaffer of choice for warm days! It is available in selected shops, bars and restaurants all over Finland. It is also possible to visit the Malmgård brewery and buy Huvila Joutsen on site. Since 2011, Huvila Joutsen is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar.

Pale golden pour with a tight white head. The aroma is a little bit citrusy and quite hoppy. A little bit of creamy malt character. A bit of lemon and some soft fruit. There is a little bit of Sorachi aroma along with a lot of creamy malt base. There is a little bit of lingering hoppiness. Man - this is a damn solid pale ale.

Courtesy of oh6gdx. Thanks, Pat. Very fruity, citrusy, powdered candy accented aroma. Smells a bit like sweet tarts but with a very mild vague funky note. On the whole I rather like the aroma. The body is a pale mildly cloudy golden color with ample carbonation bubble release and a slowly diminishing, fluffy white head. Looks how I think of a golden ale looking. Very dry fore has some chinese baby corn, funky notes. Extremely dry tasting. None of the fruit notes fromt he aroma are present. Maybe some slightly bitter citrus rind, but almost no sweetness. Tastes rather spritxy and "spent" like every possible sugar was eaten up by the yeast. On the whole it is a little Saison/Bier De Garde like...very dry and spritzy with a nice mouthfeel and almost no residual sweetness. Way underrated beer!

Bottle at Chris_o Shindig. Hazy pale gold with spice/herb aroma. Bit of sourness, actually more of a lambic, but still a bit lagery. Good if odd.

500ml bottle. you’ve got to love the probably self-descriped, "...made for mass consumption". pours hazy lemon with huge fluffy white head. nose is nicely sour and lemon. actually reminded me of cuvee de castleton or temptation. really? a wonderful nose if it were a sour ale. weird beer..what is going on here, its wonderful, acidic and slightly sour, lemony. watery fizzy feel. wow, there’s lots of words on the label but none in english so i can’t tell what this beer is supposed to be but if its meant to be a golden ale then this is no golden ale i’ve ever had or perhaps its an infection gone completely right! more like a sour. i thought it’d be a drain pour so now i wish i would have opened it with some others. if this was aged in a barrel and spiked with brett it would be all the rage, but you can say that about most beers right?

Bottle from Tbone_, thanks! Orange blonde and cloudy, pours an enormous head that fades away slowly. Grapefruit and pepper in the aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Creamy flavor with flowery and citric hops, grapefruit and cellary. Tasty thirst quencher.

It’s warm golden with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of fruity hops and malt, and it kind of invites me to taste it. The flavour has a light sweetness, fruity hops that give notes of citrus, peach and apple, and it also has nice notes of malt and caramel before the dry finish. It’s refreshing and pleasant to drink.

Bottle. Yellowish color, not clear. Mild but nice taste, feels like a very good summer beer. Little fruity hops.

Bottled - Chris O Shindig 2007 - A fairly hazy blonde beer with a whitish ring of head. The aroma is peppery and lemony with some spices. The taste is more of the same. Some sweetness and some saltiness also. Interesting.
