More than a very pleasing stout with well-ballanced whisky aroma. Tasted straight from the oak barrel. The best beer Huvila has ever brewed so far.

Tap @ St. Urho´s 16.2.2012. Poured black with a brown head. So far so good. Aroma is bread, medicine and sour berries. Flavor is more medicine, anise and roasted malt. Very very oily mouthfeel. So overly sweet, I couldn´t hardly finish it.

Bottle @ Gloria, Kuopio. Originally rated on 19.12.2009. Okay imperial stout, barrel aged notes come through a bit too much and taste has strange notes of vegetables.

Bartender discussed the #1-#3, said they are base beer (“Dessert Storm”?) aged in bourbon barrels (Wild Turkey?). The #1 is 2 months aged, #2 6 months, and #3 10 months.

#2 - Black, oily top with large bubbled small beige ring. Light oat and chocolate in the nose, moderate wood and cake. Flavor is ultra sweet but very light, cake-like with marshmallow at the front, dark chocolate mid, and root and anise in the finish. Creamy body, well integrated, but it does lack a complimentary malt.

Bottle@Pikkulintu. Pours thick pitch black with a bubbly brown head leaving lace. Excellent sweet bourbon barrel, dark fruits, vanilla, sweet, fidges, port, roasted malts and alcohol aroma. Fullbodied sweet mouthfeel. Flavor is in my alley, period. Very sweet, roasted malts, very fruity, slightly sour, chocolate, port and warming alcohol. Sweet fruity roasted fullbodied palate. Finish is so lean with sweet, roasted and bitter tones well mixed together.

Pours a pitch black colour with a tiny brown head. Very strong aroma of chocolate, licorice and bourbon. Sweet flavour of chocolate, caramel malts and licorice. Bourbon is definitely there. Full bodied with an oily mouthfeel. One of the best beers in Finland.
