Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a huge, lacing light brown head. Bitter chocolate and espresso nose, hints of berries. Chocolate and vanilla flavours rule with some tart fruits in the background. Hints of licorice in the finish. Medium, smooth body. A very nice porter.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a light head. The aroma is roasted and bitter and the flavour is roasted, bitter/burnít. Overall a nice roasted and bitter beer.

A Mes rate: Draught @ Bruxellensis. Black body, tan head, as it should be. Nice alcoholic notes with plenty dark malt and liquorice. Coffee, nuts and chocolate put in an appearance too. Maybe just a little to sweet but it is wiped away by the finish.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are earthy and malty with some oaty notes. Liquorice with herbal and citrus aspects. Flavours are earthy light coffee with chocolate malts. Some caramel and mollasses. Herbal and rooty. Good.

Draught @ Bruxellensis. Roast flavor with coffee. Rather thin. Somewhat indifferent aroma. Good, tasty beer, but nothing outstanding.

JorisPPattyn (7796) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 10, 2007
Draught Near black beer, lots of brownish head & lace. Ink, dark fallen leaves, lots of chocolate, ending slightly sweet-ish. Dry-wry, earthy, leafy taste, (Iím tempted to say: exactly what is missing in an English mild). Complex, layered. Light to medium bodied; long, but discreet bitterish-sweetish aftertaste. Very good porter indeed.

Dark brown, almost no head. Nice aroma: sweet, vanilla, roated malts. Taste is of licorice, roasted coffee and vanilla. Bitter.

jerohen (1977) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - AUG 21, 2007
Pitch black, dying brown head. Malts, coffee, liquorice and some fruity notes. Sweet flavour, smooth, somewhat watery. Some vanilla notes shine through in finish. True to the porter style.
