COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Huvila X-Porter has a deep black appearance with a brown head. Creamy, slightly nutty, smooth chocolate malt nose. The taste is similar to its nose but also allows the taste of toffee to come through. The after taste then turns more chocolate with toffee. This is a rarity as not many top-fermented Baltic Porters are made any more. Our “hero” at the San Diego Int’l Beer Festival 2010! It is available on tap and in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. Since 2011, Huvila X-Porter is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar. Last, but not least, Huvila X-Porter is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and roasted grain. The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, roasted malt, and alcohol, as well as lighter notes of wood, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of oh6gdx. Pours deep black with a discreet tint of red and a firm and creamy beige head leaving a neat lacework. Hard roasted malts in the nose and sweet vanilla. Solid body, lots of roasted malt and vanilla, minerally and metallic but never unpleasant. A little roast in the finish. 091109

Draught. Deep ruby colour, not much head. Aroma is roasted malts, some quite earthy notes as well as some hints of nuts. Flavour is roasted malts, some sour/cidic notes of fruit and old coffee. Also slight notes of some licorice. Tastes quite much like a sweet stout, but anyway, hides the 7 % well and is well drinkable.

Bottled at Drink Bar, Tallinn. Very black, small head. Licorice and tar aroma. Sweet and full bodied with dense mouthfeel. Lots of dark chocolate, some tobacco. Salty tarry finish. I prefer the lighter, more drinkable version.
