COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Huvila X-Porter has a deep black appearance with a brown head. Creamy, slightly nutty, smooth chocolate malt nose. The taste is similar to its nose but also allows the taste of toffee to come through. The after taste then turns more chocolate with toffee. This is a rarity as not many top-fermented Baltic Porters are made any more. Our “hero” at the San Diego Int’l Beer Festival 2010! It is available on tap and in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. Since 2011, Huvila X-Porter is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar. Last, but not least, Huvila X-Porter is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers.

Non seethrough dark brown. Smells of warm round coffee, bitter dark chocolate. Taste follows up with the nice round coffee and some nice burnt flavours. A porter to my liking, not too sweet, well balanced ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Earthy ashy chocolate malt aroma. Black with giant tan head. Sweet earthy chocolate and moderately bitter herbal quinine flavor. Nice body. Tasty.

500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty dark malty aroma, slightly malt spicy, minimally smoky. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, minimally chocolately, some hop bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle: Pours black, with a huuuuge , creamy, dark head. Aroma of espresso, vanilla, cocoa. Flavour is creamy dark bitter chocolate malt, licorice, slightly bitter and oily nuts....raw vanilla. Very nice.

A pitch black body covered by a quickly settling brown head. Nose has heavy notes of chokolate, coffee, caramel and rye. Taste is quite sweet so much as to almost feel cloying. The finish is surprisingly lightly bitter and dry. Carbonation is fairly low and palate feels quite heavy. A nice, very rich baltic porter.

A really nice and flavourful porter. I really enjoy this style. Pours a dark cola colour. Crazy amounts of head on this. Aromas of dark malts, dark fruits, coffee, dark chocolate. Nice bitter and sweet flavours. Delicious.

Bottle. Black with small, beige head. In aroma pumpernickel and bready notes, also low roastiness and fruitiness. In taste roasted malts, again pumpernickel and fruitiness (dried fruits). Soft carbonation, sweet in the end. Lacking a bit body in my opinion (it’s only 17,5 Plato). But in overall ok.

Bottle. Pours black with a small head. Aroma is not very complex: mainly aroma of pumpernickel bread with some fruity notes. Taste of roasted malts, pumpernickel and more fruity than the aroma. Medium, soft carbonation, quite sweet finish. Not a bad beer, but in comparision to stronger baltic porters (>20 Plato) is not as good.

500 ml bottle. Earthy aroma, dark dried berries. Lovely sweet / bitter taste, it begins with sweet plums, figs, raisins and goes into chocolate, coffee, and tobacco. Very smooth and creamy taste. Well-balanced flavors.
