Hazy nut brown color, small tanned head. Strong aroma of rye porridge and berries. Medium-bodied, malty. Berries and roast. Quite carbonated. A bit sugary in the finish with alcoholic bitterness. Reasonably drinkable but quite boring belgian brown ale. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Aromas of caramel cover raisins with a mild backdrop of milk chocolate. Full sweet flavors of ripe fruit and caramel. Only a mild spiciness and not enough hops to help recover from all the sweetness. Some spiciness - perhaps even coriander for Joris’ sake? But also a lovely malty feel, some toffee and caramel with a balancing bitterness in the finish. Nice indeed. 020198 Ray1975 (251), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA

Aroma has hints of bread and fruit. Taste has heavy alcohol hints with a fruit finish. This is my first experience with this type, but I wouldn’t recommend it. FlacoAlto (2485), Tucson, Arizona, USA

Pours a lightly hazy amber color and is topped by a light brown head that disappears after a bit. The aroma is a mix of spicy notes, chocolate, prunes, musty earth, and figs. Quite an interesting melange of aromatics actually. The taste is sweet up front, but then moves to a spicy note in the middle. I get notes of cinnamon, figs, prunes, raisins, and a certain woodiness. This beer finishes a tad on the week side, it quickly disappears losing the rich fruity maltiness surprisingly quickly. This beer has notes that are quite reminiscent of a lightly aged beer; hints of sherry and rich meaty malt notes. This beer is reasonably tasty, in fact all of the flavors and aromas I consider quite desirable, but it just seems to be lacking in some way that makes it a bit disappointing. The flavors do not meld enough into a synchronized whole. Silphium (2160), Haslett, Michigan, USA

Banana, toast, caramel, and alcohol dominated the aroma. Tart, fruity body, with hints of raisin, cherries, and banana in addition to caramel and toast. Alcohol is evident in the finish. Sharp and to-the-point, medium bodied. Decent, although monotonous. Thanks humulus.

Merci!
