3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very dark brown in colour. Aromas are dry and yeasty with banana, bread and some earthiness. Flavours are smooth and malty with winter fruit and a sour, fruity finish. No a great aftertaste. Good but easily forgotten.

bottle from Village de la BiŤre Strasbourg France. Hazy brown colour, large off-white head. Malty-fruity nose. Rather thin malty base with some spices and a shy hoppy touch. Quite thin for the strength.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with a good beige head that dissipates. Sweet fruity aroma with a hint of alcohol. Big fruity sweet maltiness with slight alcoholic sourness in the finish. Touch of raisin at times, and possibly a bit of green apples. I really enjoyed this one, and am surprised it's not rated higher.

Dark brown, rather small head. Light refreshing kind of aroma, some arabic gum with some light dried apple. Medium bodied brew, light roasty notes, malt is well represented.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2007 Dark ruby body full of large yeast chunks and topped by a rather large beige head. Yeast fruitiness takes over the otherwise light body. The fruity taste ranging of dates, raisins and cherries is backed-up by shy toffee and some peppery spices. A little sourness ensues before a dry floury yeast finish. Youíll smell some noble hops but you need to focus to taste them. A little tobacco flavour here and there. Even at only 7.3% the alcohol is apparent. Drinkable beer but nothing I havenít had a thousand times before. No originality whatsoever in this Evelde Grand Cru (thereís not Art in it).

Very much like the dark brown color of this beer, but the smell is pretty average and so is the taste. Body and carbo not great either.
