3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big brown head. Deep dark red brown body. Papery licorice aroma with chocolatey notes. Dry-sweet papery licorice taste with syrupy herbal notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Sweetish earthy musty chocolatey aftertaste with herbal notes. Nice, mild, drinkable. Faintly peppery. (0.33l bottle at Delirium Cafe, Brussels.)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very much like the dark brown color of this beer, but the smell is pretty average and so is the taste. Body and carbo not great either.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, 11 July 2011) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins and brown sugar. Malty taste with caramel, dried fruit, prunes, dark bread and a spicy finish. More than medium body, fairly sweet. Quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This brown ale poured with a massive off-white head, eliciting a strong malty aroma. The flavor is caramel malt and fruit, with some peppery spices.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours a plum color, small fizzly off-white head, with virtually no lacing. Vinous, figs, dates, raisins, and plums on the nose. Dark pitted fruits on the tongue, slight caramel and grape juice. Seems rather light for a Grand Cru, or at least I expected it to be a bit heavier. Very quick finish, leaving only but a slight alcohol flavor. This one was okay, but nothing exceptional.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy reddish brown hue with good off-white head and lace. Aroma is very fruity with tones of raisin, peach, apple, and grape. Also detected some sweet spice, caramel and musty yeast esters. The initial taste was full of sweet malt and soft spice. Picked up a undertone of nutty bitterness towards the middle and the finish had a alcohol presence. Well rounded taste but seemed to lack the body to match. The mouthfeel is thin, fizzy and slightly papery. Alcohol level and the matching chest burn increased as beer warmed up. Overall drinkable, but not something I would buy again. Worth the one bottle though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours an excellent dick dark brown colour with great head all though the beer. Aroma is yeatsy and a little fruity like a brune. Taste is similarly yeasty and fruity but not very complex and a bit unexciting, decent finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Better than the standard Artevelde, a bit more body and a hint of caramel. But still has those sugary and yeasty characteristics of their regular brew, again, a bit of a dissapointment.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown color with tawny through the edges, little to no head. Aroma hints of plum & clove with a nice balanced hoppiness to balance the alcohol. Flavor is well balanced. The finish is full-bodied & refreshing. Not complex but still solid.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 330ml. -at Delirium Tremens, Brussels. Clear red/brown coloured, small off-white head, fruity caramel nose with touch of alcohol. Sweet malty, caramel and spicy taste with notes of alcohol and fruits. A bit too sweet for me.
