2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2004
This beer was adopted as Hyde's premium beer a few years ago, but seems to have lost some character since then. Amber/gold in colour, a creamy head which lasts well but little aroma, maybe a hint of malt. Quite plain in the taste with malt and apricot fruits, turning biscuity (typical Hydes beer then!) in the finish but saved from becoming cloying by some bitter hops. Overall a tad sweet and under-hopped for a premium bitter. (sampled on cask in the Vaults, Wigan, UK)

Amber gold with a long lasting rocky head and good lace, but no real aroma. Slight hints of maltiness in the mouth but a soft forgettable finish.
