3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Jolly Angler - MCR. Pours clear gold with a thick, creamy white head. Simple bready pale malts in the nose, very slight citrus notes, vanilla. Light-medium sweet flavour with creamy bread, subtle meringue, dough, minimal hop character. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more simple pale malts, mashed banana, roar, faint ripe lemon, hay. A very simplistic beer, but perfectly drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint from cask at The Grey Horse in Manchester with JR and MEH. Clear golden. Persistent beige head and lacing. Moderate aroma. Fine and well-balanced taste, with pale malt and some hops. Very smoth and extremely quaffable. Just as a good bitter should be!

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2014 Excellent subtle ordinary bitter and the complete antidote to the over-the-top, in-your-face beers which litter England’s bars. Colour is pale but not overly so. Aroma is gently hoppy with a decent flavour of freshly baked bread. Finish is gently bitter without being astringent. Really worth tracking down.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear golden beer with a decent foamy head. Very little aroma. Light, slight sour citrus hop aroma. Bit of hop with the fruit in the flavour. A touch of nut in an otherwise watery finish. Bland.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask @ The Old Horse, Leicester. A brown bitter. It's alright but it's not very interesting. There was a hint of banana with this which may be a bad sign?

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My Bottom Line:
Butterscotch-y caramel oversees minerals and leafy hops in this lackadaisical Bitter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the clear amber.
-The hop character is reminiscent of already-steeped tea leaves.
-The hop bitterness feels rather dusty when teamed up with (what I think is) this hard water character.
-Diacetyl levels are high, but are high enough to make the rest of the brew feel a bit limp.
On cask at The Mermaid at Burford.

Medium brown pour with a thin white head. Weak body, flavour of hop bitterness. Inoffensive old school bitter.
